RyTask's search basics are part of the core product. This page covers the planned extensions at both ends of the spectrum: natural language for people who don't want to learn syntax, and a precise query language for people who do.

The natural-language end comes through the MCP server rather than a built-in model: an AI agent with full workspace access can already answer "find that task about the login bug" by searching on your behalf, and the planned work deepens that path. The power end is a JQL-style query language — deliberately later, because power-user syntax should never be the price of admission.

What's planned:

Semantic / AI search via MCP — natural-language finding, agent-powered (v2).
JQL-style query language — an advanced filtering DSL for power users (v3).
